Dit hof, opgericht in 2002, berecht mensen die verdacht worden van de ernstigste misdaden: genocide, oorlogsmisdaden en misdaden tegen de menselijkheid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-content paragraph-content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Den Haag wordt daarom ook wel de <strong>internationale stad van vrede en recht<\/strong> genoemd. Het ICC is \u00e9\u00e9n van de meer dan 200 internationale organisaties die hier zijn gevestigd. Vanuit deze stad wordt gewerkt aan een rechtvaardigere wereld \u2014 stap voor stap, zaak voor zaak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"core-content paragraph-content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het bijzondere? Terwijl op het strand kinderen spelen en in de stad fietsen zoemen over de grachten, worden binnen de muren van het Strafhof beslissingen genomen die wereldwijd impact hebben.
